Read the page below 1-2 more times. Write down 2-3 words you don’t know and look them up in a dictionary. Be prepared to talk about the new words in your next class.

eg. I didn’t know what “disgusting” meant. It means that something is ugly or very bad. For example, I think cigarettes are disgusting.

Review

Non-fiction is a real thing. For example, our history books are non-fiction.

Fiction is the opposite of non-fiction, it is not real. For example, in some movies the ghosts and heroes are fiction.

Vocabulary

disgusting adj. – offensive to the physical, moral, or aesthetic taste

eg. Celeste thinks stinky tofu is disgusting.

eg. Fiona thinks ice cream cake is disgusting because it is too sweet.

eg. I think it is disgusting when my teammates don’t protect me in battle.

blister n. – a thin bump on the skin, containing watery matter or serum, as from a burn or other injury

eg. After a long walk, my shoes give my feet painful blisters.

further adv. – at or to a greater distance / in addition; moreover

eg. Can you walk a little further?

adoration n. – fervent and devoted love

eg. I have adoration for my parents because they are so caring.

eg. I have adoration for my favorite girl band because the members are so beautiful and they can sing well.  They are active.

genius n. – a person having an extraordinarily high intelligence rating on a psychological test, as an IQ above 140.

eg. Celeste is not a genius.

brilliant adj. – excellent mental ability

eg. She is a genius, she is brilliant.
