Vocabulary
Tortoise – larger kind of turtle, lives on land e.g.: “In North America there are wild desert tortoises.” “There are also many kind of turtles in lakes and rivers.”
Cactus – it has many needles and it can hurt if you touch it, it is found in very dry places, but it can store a lot of water. e.g: “The largest cactus, the Saguaro, sometimes looks like it wants to give you a hug.”
Prickly Pear cactus – a cactus with flat oval shaped stems, and red fruit at the top e.g: “Prickly pear fruit is very sweet, but you should be careful to remove all the needles.”
