we don’t have any gimmicks at my company
foreign companies have limited access to investments in China
exponentially – a number multiplied by itself, a certain number of times
they don’t use any gimmicks, that I know of
eg: “If I had another job I would lose focus exponentially. Because I already have so many tasks at my current job.”
2 x 2 – two squared
2 x 2 x 2- two cubed, two to the third
2 x 2 x 2 x 2 – two to the fourth
add up – To make sense : to seem to be logical or true.
eg: “Everything should add up when you are in negotiation otherwise it could be time consuming.”
call off – to cancel a plan or meeting
eg: “Our trip was called off because half of our team got food poisoning.”
“We called off dinner, because we couldn’t reserve a table.”
carry on – to continue despite the situation
eg: “Even though we ran into a lot of difficulties when we dealt with this case, we still decided to carry on.”
