Homework for next class: Write a story  about your wedding using the summary sentences below, try to use the new words from your previous class. Upload the story to the SE website.

The wedding was held on the bride’s property. When the bride and groom were standing in the middle of the room the host said some good words about their future life and some well-wishes, and then they exchanged rings and their parents also said something about their children and hoped they can start a new life together and love each other. After around half an hour the bride left her own home to go to their new house.

exchange – to give and receive

eg. Around Christmas time, we will have a gift exchange at the office. The maximum amount of money to spend on a gift is 100 RMB.

eg. The bride and groom came to every table to cheers with everyone. We clinked our glasses full of champagne.

Summary sentences

Who? My classmates and relatives attended my wedding/mariage ceremony. My husband’s relatives didn’t attend because they lived too far away from my hometown, in Hubei.

What?

Where? The wedding was held in my hometown, Zhe Jiang, so just my classmates and relatives went to the wedding.

When? It was held in the morning in the winter. / My wedding was held 6 years ago, I can’t remember the exact date.

Why? Most of my classmates and relatives live in my hometown. If they came to Shanghai it would not have been convenient.
