when she with me have class – when we have class / when she has class with me 

it spend me a lot of time – it takes me a lot of time / I spend a lot of time on it 

things take time / people spend money or time 

when i come here have class – when I come here to have class 

come back to home – come back home 

take a phone with my husband – take a call from my husband / call my husband / talk to my husband on the phone 

he saw the tv – he watched tv 

always talk use the English – always talks in English / using English / always speaks English 

see = speak (ability)

look = talk (something you do)

chat = watch (a process)

the = to give specific meaning to a noun / makes a noun more specific, so remember: if the thing is already the most specific it can be, you can’t use “the” 

a = any / just one

i went to the cafe near my house yesterday

I with him go back to the Singapore – I went back to Singapore with him 

stressful and tiring – things that are hard and make you feel pressure and tired

eg. I do yoga so I can reduce my stress

soothing (adj) – make you calm and relaxed

eg. i like massages because they are soothing

air cleaner / air filter 

vent – hui/chu feng kou

filter – jing hua qi

dust – hui chen

at – direction

for – help / reason

to – arrives

of – ownership / zhu ren de

with –  together

from – opposite to “to”

in – inside

on – on top

this is a bad situation that I am in (the situation is around you)

I need to focus on that (focus is like attention / light. Light shines on sth)

I have a lot of experience in teaching (experience is within life, and life is all around you)

I am putting my trust/faith in you (emotions / energy / thoughts are in your heart…)

I rely on my job to get money (your job is like a table, it supports you, and you are on top of it)

i have a lot of interest in sth (the “sth” is a subject, which contains a lot of things, like a book, so we say “in the book”)

phone = line – on the phone

the internet – on the internet / online

eg. on my ipad / on the computer / on my iphone / on the screen / on TV

a situation / world / story / art / movies / tv shows / books = in

i took a photo to you – give you (direction)

i took a photo of you – you are in the photo (ownership)

i took a photo for you – helped you take it (assistance)

i took a photo with you – together in the photo (together)

i took a photo from you – you give me (direction / opposite of “to”)

it’s hard to differentiate between what and which.

what = “the thing”

which = describe directly a thing / situation

because = reason

and = describe more (have relationship)

so = result

but = opposite idea

that = describe indirectly (and….it)

who = directly describes a person / which person?

when = tell the time
