Vocabulary

Maintenance (n): 1- the process of preserving a condition or situation or the state of being preserved.
E.g.: The maintenance worker came to fix my TV this morning.

Lifetime (n): 1- the time during which a person is alive.
E.g.: It would have taken me a lifetime to read all those books.

Secret Santa (n): 1- a Western Christmas tradition in which members of a group or community are randomly assigned a person to whom they have to give a gift.
E.g.: In my family we play Secret Santa on Christmas Eve every year.

Acquaintance (n): 1- someone who is known but who is not a close friend.
E.g.: She ran into an old acquaintance at the grocery store.

Truffle (n): 1- a type of fungus that grows under the ground and that is used in cooking.
E.g.: Mushroom pasta with truffle oil is one of my favorite dishes!

Chocolate Truffle (n): 1- a kind of chocolate candy with a soft center.
E.g.: He couldn’t resist it and ended up eating a whole box of chocolate truffles!
