salon – usually a place to get a a haircut (barber usually for men) eg: “I got a trim at the salon yesterday” “I have a hair appointment tomorrow at 3pm.”

trim – to just cut a little off eg: “We need to trim 2 minutes off the video.”

residency -to be a legal resident of the place you are living in. eg: “Out of State tuition is much more expensive if you don’t have residency.”

fund – a group for collecting and saving money. eg: “We don’t have that much in our vacation fund.”

funds – the actual money eg: “I don’t have enough funds to set up a company.”

quota – a certain number reserved for specific things. eg: “Shanghai university has a 30% acceptance Quota for Shanghainese.”

You have to do much efforts – You have to put in a lot of effort.

Debt – (Dett)

My generation is not as concerned about boys as my parent’s generation.

English is just as hard as Chinese. English grammar is as complicated as Chinese writing.
