Writing exercise

Would you remember if you did somebody a favor years ago? Would you know that a little thing you have done for them could change their lives?

One day before the CNY, a lady came to my parentsā€™ home and looked for my mother. She looked decent and was quite excited when she saw my mother, but my mother couldnā€™t recognize who she was at all. ā€œDonā€™t you remember me!ā€ She said,ā€Iā€™m Han. We used to work in the same factory 30 years ago.ā€ Although still had no idea, my mother let her come into our house and heard the whole story.

30 years ago, when she was only 16, she stopped studying in school and got a job in a factory where she had to work 12 hours a day with a very little pay. She often didnā€™t have enough money for food and my mother always invited her for dinner at our home. As a girl who was far away from her family and was washed up after a long day work, she felt safe and comfortable only when she was with my mother.

During the last 30 years, she changes a few jobs and has been doing better and better. She got married, has a happy family and lives a decent life, and one thing made her feel regretted for all these years was not in touch with my mother. She said:ā€ I have spent 20 years to look for you and I finally found you. I couldnā€™t be happier! Because of you I always think positively! Because of you Iā€™m always happy to help!ā€
It was a touching story and did sound something my mother does a lot but it didnā€™t ring a bell to my mother. My family was not rich but my mother was so warmhearted and always helped others by all means. And this is one of the reasons why she has countless friends.
