Verse (song) – is the part of the song that comes inbetween the Chorus.
typical song structure is: Verse, Chorus, Verse, Chorus, Bridge, Chorus
example: (although this one starts with the chorus)
I’m a big big girl
in a big big world
It’s not a big big thing if you leave me
but I do do feel that
I do do will miss you much
miss you much…
I can see the first leaf falling
It’s all yellow and nice
It’s so very cold outside
like the way I’m feeling inside
I’m a big big girl
in a big big world
It’s not a big big thing if you leave me
but I do do feel that
I do do will miss you much
miss you much…
Outside it’s now raining
and tears are falling from my eyes
Why did it have to happen?
Why did it all have to end?
Break-up song – songs about two lovers breaking up
Digs – a way to insult or point out a flaw in someone in an indirect way
Dylan towers over everyone = that Dylan is better then everyone else, he is above,
frontiers of literature keep widening = boundaries e.g. giving Bob Dylan the Noble prize in Literature is widening the boundaries of what is considered literature.
