Video: Magic School Bus, Goes to Seed

lizard ( liz – zerd ) noun – some are green, some are brown, they are small, they look like a small alligator

photographer, noun – a person who takes pictures

field trip, noun- when a group of students and teachers go on a trip to learn something

bee, noun – small black and yellow insect that drinks flower nectar

famous – a person who is important or very popular or well known

magazine cover – front of a magazine

stuck –  cannot move

nectar – flower juice

pollen – like a little small ball on the anther that bees take from flower to flower to make new flowers

seed – the like a little ball that is the beginning of a plant

proboscis – very long “soda straw” that bees have to eat and drink

anther –  where the pollen is on a flower

Summary

Who? Liz the Lizard, Mr. Seedplot, Ms. Frizzle, the students, photographer, Keesha, Pheobe, Carlos, Arnold

What? Want to grow a flower seed

Where? They are outside the park of the flower garden outside of the school

When? in the morning, at noon, in afternoon, in the spring, (March, April, May)

Why? because Ms. Frizzle wants to grow the flowers for a garden to be on the cover of a magazine

How?

Summary

Ms. Frizzle and the students wanted to plant a flower because the photographer wanted to take a picture of the school garden because it was beautiful. The picture will be on the magazine cover of Plant It Magazine. In the spring or summer Carlos was planting tomatoes because he wants to be famous. Pheobe did not have a flower because it was at her old school.

Ms. Frizzle and her students went on a field trip to Pheobe’s old school garden. The magic school bus turned into a ladybug school bus and it went into one of Pheobe’s flowers. It got stuck in the nectar.

Plants need: soil, light, time, water
