Vocabulary

Coworker – colleague*
*Note: the word colleague sounds fairly technical compared to the word coworker.
Company – the word company can either mean 公司 or the presence of other people. For example, I can say “can you keep me company, I don’t want to be alone.” I can also say “these people are good company.” This is the usage of the word to refer to companionship. Otherwise, it can be used to mean 公司.
Plural – more than one
Singular – only one
Staff – a plural word to refer to employees. Therefore, you cannot say
“every staff,” but you can say “every staff member” or “every employee” instead.
Writing Practice
Original:
People often say that company is family, and every staff is a member of the family. However, if a member often makes mistake and is lack of ability, the family cannot dismiss him, but the company can dismiss him, so the company is not the family but a ball team, every player and their boss have a same goal which their want to win the Finally, if a player is not happy in the team, he can quit.

People often say that the company you work for is your family, and every employee is a member of that family. However, if a member often makes mistakes and lacks skills, the family cannot dismiss him, but the company can dismiss him, so the company is not exactly like a family, but more like a basketball team. Every player and his or her boss have the same goal: they want to win the game. Finally, if a player is not happy in the team, he can quit.
