F2F Class Notes 12th October (Eddie)

Original:

Today is the fifth day from beginning the work, but actually it is just Wensday. I’m very busy these days so that I’m surprised to find I had missed nearly 20 days’ lessons of SE. This truth make me upset and i think i have to catch up on immediately.

During this National holidays, I went to Shandong to attend my brother’s wedding. The wedding was not bad but also not special. what made me freak out was the traffic. We spent almost 17 hours to go there by drivingï¼We started off on 2:30am of 30st, Oct. and arrived there on the next day evening. The traffic in National holidays is really crazy. The accidents happened on express way frequently. The most situation was 4-6 cars crash together and the heads and rears of these cars were badly damaged. The whole experience like watching a movie. Fortunately, I took high-speed train when i came back. It only took 5 hours. This story reminds me do not drive far away in National holiday of China, it is not a good idea.

Edit:

The seven-day National Day holiday ended five days ago, but it’s only Wednesday (and we have another two working days until the weekend). Today was Day 5 of the longest week of the year, the week after the National Day holiday, during which we work an additional two weekend days to compensate for the two extra days off. I’m very busy these days so I was shocked / it only just occurred to me that it had been nearly three weeks since I had been to SE last / I had missed nearly 20 days’ worth of classes. This made me upset and I decided I had to catch up on them immediately.

During this National Day holiday, I went to Shandong for my brother’s wedding. It was more or less average / it was a pretty run-of-the-mill affair, but what really annoyed me was the traffic. We spent almost 17 hours on the drive to Shandongï¼We started off at 2:30am on September 30th / Friday and arrived there at 8pm on October 1st / Saturday. The traffic during the National Day holiday is truly / indeed crazy. We saw a lot of crashes on the expressway. The most common scenario was a 4- to 6-car pile-up where the front and rear ends of the cars were badly damaged. The whole experience was like watching a movie. After seeing all that,/ That was enough to make me want to take a high-speed train on the way back. It only took 5 hours. This will remind me to not drive far away this time of the year, as it is obviously not a good idea.
