It is surreal that Omicron is spreading so rapidly and widely today that we have to work from home again, and students have to take online classes.
It always reminds me of the book “guns, germs and steel”, which is quite an academic book and I never finish that, but I believe the key message that war is correlated with germs somehow.
If history repeats itself, the current health situation and economic environment may lead to a war, which actually is happening in Ukraine. The US and some European countries are taking economic sanctions towards Russia, which doesn’t make any sense, from my opinion. The reality is European economics are connected with Russia closely along years of development, and there’s no need for them to stand the side. But it might be the case they have to stand behind their government.

If history repeats itself, the current health situation and economic environment may lead to a war, which actually is happening in Ukraine. The US and some European countries are putting economic sanctions on Russia, which doesn’t make any sense, in my opinion. The reality is European economics are closely connected with / to Russia after years of development, and there’s no need for them to stand the side (hmm what do you mean “stand the side”?). But it might be the case they have to stand behind their government.
