Email Service 8th April (Celeste)

Original

This is the first time that I use the email service. It is challenging for me to write someting down with my baby english. Anyway, let me try and start it.

Last time ( 5, April) , I was writing a short text about a recent news of a chinese actress liuYan, Celeste helped me to edit and correct the text. She suggested me continue to write the next part, to descirbe the bad custum at the wedding reception.

I did some researches on the Internet. When I typed ” nao xing niang or nao xin fang”(have fun of the bride or the first night of the weding), the news about how the groommen or guestes make games for the brides, sometimes for the bridemaids.

The games are always about sex. For example, they requests the brides to eat a banana from each side. The bridemaids are sometimes requests to do some sexuel games if even they don’t want to do the games. This custom are always happend on the countryside in China.

There has a long history for the custom from ancient times. At the first begining, people do this in order to give some sex education for the brides, and make the wedding more hot and lively.

But nowadays, there is no need to have games with the brides with the developpment of society. The games become more and more vulgar, even become the acting inappropriate for the bride and her bridemaids.

I hope men in China can be more and more gentle to respect women one day. This bad custom will disappear from all of China. People celebrate their wedding in a honourable way.

This is my first time using the email service. It is challenging for me to write someting down with my beginner English level. Anyway, let me have a go / try.

In my last class on April 5th, I was writing a short text about a recent story/article of a Chinese actress, LiuYan, Celeste helped me to edit and correct the text. She suggested to/for me to continue to write the next part, to describe the bad customs at wedding receptions.

I did some research on the internet. When I typed “nao xing niang or nao xin fang” (have fun of the bride or the first night of the wedding), what came up was how the groomsmen or guests make games for the brides and sometimes for the bridesmaids.

The games are always about sex. For example, the groomsmen or guests request the bridesmaids to eat one banana together, one girl at each end of it. The bridemaids are sometimes requested (forced?) to do some sexual games even if they don’t want to do the games. These kinds of games are always played in the countrysides of China. ( These kinds of games are always played in the rural towns and villages of China.)

There is a long history of these customs starting from ancient times. In the beginning, people did this in order to give some sex education to the brides, and make the wedding more hot and lively.

But nowadays, there is no need to have games with the brides in today’s developed society. The games become more and more vulgar, even becoming inappropriate for the bride and her bridesmaids.

I hope men in China can be more and more gentle and respect women one day, and that these bad customs will disappear from all of China leaving people to celebrate their wedding in a honourable way.
*** Hi, Michelle. You shouldn’t say that you have “baby English” because you wrote a very interesting piece! There were a few things that needed to be changed, but you were able to get your point across and I could understand everything. Great job.
