Active- When you are actively engaging something, not simply watching it.
e.g. Students who practice active learning generally learn much more in a shorter period of time because they ask a lot more questions about the material.
Passive- When you are not very active about something,
e.g. Children are considered passive learners, which means that at an early age, they can learn everything just by hearing or watching it
Charcoal/Coal- A kind of material that is burned to generate intense heat, and a material we use for energy production.
e.g. China is trying to stop using coal to produce electricity everywhere in the mainland in an attempt to protect the environment.
Junkie- Someone who is addicted to drugs, not a good word to call someone.
News Junkie- Someone who is addicted to following the news and what’s happening in the world.
e.g. My husband is a news junkie, he always has the news playing on the radio and the tv.
Adrenaline Junkie- Someone who is addicted to doing things that give them strong sensations.
e.g. Adrenaline junkies usually love extreme sports like sky diving or bungee jumping.
Revert- Change back to something original.
e.g. The president reverted his decision on public healthcare.
Extreme sports- Sports that are usually very dangerous and exciting.
e.g. my wife love of extreme sports make me very nervous; I’m afraid she will get hurt.
