amend (v):to change the words of a text, especially a law or a legal document
修订,修正,修改(法律文件等)
E.g.: MPs were urged to amend the law to prevent another oil tanker disaster.

E.g.: In line 20, “men” should be amended (= changed) to “people”.

E.g.: Until the constitution is amended, the power to appoint ministers will remain with the president.

relieve (v): to make an unpleasant feeling, such as pain or worry, less strong
