Research the Four Sisters Mountain in Sichuan. Where is it? What is it like? What town is nearby? What can you do there?

Vocabulary

Nail – a smooth fastener
Screw – a sharp fastener with a helical thread to help hold it in place
Bolt – like a screw, but not pointy; usually fastened by using a nut

Peak – the single highest point on a mountain
e.g. The highest peak in the 四姑娘山 is 幺妹峰.
Ridge – a long area of ground that is higher than the land around it; a long peak
e.g. We walked along the mountain ridge and had a wonderful view on both sides.

Helix – a shape which is like a circle where the ends don’t meet, it moves in a circle and also up and down 螺旋

Oncology – the study of cancer
Pharmacology – the study of drugs
e.g. Riley works in oncological pharmacology.

Thesis – a paper you write to finish a Master’s degree (or, sometimes, as an undergraduate as well)
Dissertation – a paper you write to finish a Doctoral degree

Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior – first, second, third, fourth years of high school and undergraduate

Spring – a piece of metal that resists being extended or contracted 弹簧
