Original

Last month, our company ran Family Day for all employees. It is a regular event every year. Parents, children, & even pets are welcome to the event. Though said so, basically only children are brought. Therefore, I’ve never been to it as I didn’t have child before. While, it is different this year, as I also become a new mom.
I still hesitated as my baby was only 8 months old. I was afraid she was not able to attend most of the games. When I was hesitating, my colleague convinced me by telling me there would be lottery. From her experience, the prize would be quite attractive.
In the afternoon of that day, my husband drove my daughter by. She wore a beautiful new dress that I specially bought for her for this event – she usually wears basic romper at home. Before we went to the event area, which was our pantry, I showed her our office. My colleagues quite liked her & played with her. My baby didn’t cry at all when seeing so many strangers, which actually surprised me a little bit.
Then we went to event area, pantry. It was decorated lovely, with toys, dolls, snacks, & even tiny dressing room. Little girls are assigned with decorating bee/butterfly wings, which is still too big for my baby. Finally my baby got a hair band in a bee style.
She kept looking around curiously. It was the first time that she was exposed to so many kids. She also seemed greedy when seeing other children eating snacks, which she couldn’t eat yet.
The first game is ‘treasure hunting’. You need to find out small cards hided in different floors. I held her when I was finding those cards for her. During that, she felt sleep… She kept sleeping until the second game started. She slept sound, and it seemed she wouldn’t wake soon. Then I decided to take her home & say goodbye to the lottery sadly.
My colleagues told me the next day, prize of lottery was a big set of Lego. This was really what I wanted! Now I am already looking forward to next Family Day.
