My name is Rennan, I’m a student from Brazil. I’m writing to apply for the position of Pilot as advertised.
The position seems very exciting for me. Working in the Airplane industry is a challenge. I have observed how the company has grown during the last few years and I think it is quite interesting what the organization and market strategy have done to attract people.

During my internship, I learned that teamwork, collaboration, knowledge exchange with experienced professionals will help me to develop and become more responsible.

I’m not afraid of facing problems and looking for solutions. I believe that this experience will allow me to apply the knowledge that I’m learning throughout my course. I’m determined to be fluent in the English language because it’s very important for my career. Therefore, I believe that I’m a suitable person because I keep calm, work under pressure, and make fast decisions.

I have decided to look for a job where I can show my skills and grow as a professional in this area. I am available if you wish to arrange an interview.

For Susan Boyle, the last few years have been like a fairy tale. Before she appeared on a British TV talent show in 2009, she was a shy, middle-aged woman from Scotland. Then she sang ‘I dreamed a dream’ from the musical Les Miserables for her audition and she became famous overnight. She didn’t win the contest, but the YouTube video of her performance has been watched by millions of people and her debut album I dreamed a dream has sold over 9 million copies.

The road to stardom hasn’t been easy for Susan. She was born in 1961 in a small Scottish town, the youngest of nine children. She had some learning difficulties and was bullied at school. She left with few qualifications and she has had just one job as a cook at a college. But singing was always part of Susan’s life – at school and at her local church and pub. She had singing lessons and auditioned for talent shows, but she never found the success she was looking for. It was her mother who encouraged her to enter the popular UK Britain’s Got Talent show. The rest is history.

So, how has life changed for this unlikely celebrity? Things have never been quite the same since that extraordinary night in January 2009. She has performed to audiences of thousands of fans and has just completed a huge tour of the UK and the US. Known to the press – and to many of her fans – as SuBo, she has recorded six albums and sold millions of copies. Although she hasn’t won a Grammy award, she has been nominated twice.

But Susan has never forgotten where she came from. She still lives in Scotland. She has bought a new house, but she hasn’t sold the home where she grew up. She has never married or had children, but she has said that she would like to adopt a child. Her powerful voice has given pleasure to millions of fans all over the world. But above all, perhaps, she has been an inspiration for all the people who have ever wanted to follow a dream.

My name is Sunny Zhang. I am a recent graduate in Drama and Performing Arts. I am writing to apply for the role of Tour Manager that you advertised in the Tourist Daily.

The role of a tour manager is very interesting to me. Working in the travel industry is one of the most challenging but rewarding jobs you can do. I have followed the progress of Big Fun Holiday Tours since the company was founded in 2001 and I have seen how it has continued to grow as a leader in the travel sector. I particularly like how you work with families rather than big groups of adults.

After finishing my job for Theatre Workshops, I tried to learn some new skills. I learned to play/playing the ukulele and now I practise playing at least three times a week. Therefore, I believe that I am a good fit for （适合）this job, which requires creativity and dedication. I also love to travel and visit new places. While I was travelling, I developed my interpersonal skills. I had to interact with different people to find out information and get help when I needed it. In addition to this, I also speak English and Chinese fluently. I hope learning/to learn Spanish and have recently started attending an evening course.

Starting in the 1850s, hundreds of thousands of Swiss children were taken from their parents and sent to farms to work. Now, thousands of people in Switzerland, who were forced into child labour, are demanding compensation for their stolen childhoods.

When children became orphans, when parents were unmarried, or when families were very poor, sometimes the children were taken from their families and placed in foster families. The children were often sent to farms, as agriculture in Switzerland was not mechanized, and so child labour was needed. They were called ‘contract children’.
