Grammar

present simple – 一般现在时

S + be/do + O 

i.e. I read a book.

present continuous – 现在进行时

S + be + doing + O 

i.e. I am reading a book.

past simple – 一般过去时

S + was/were / did + O 

i.e. I was a student.
i.e. I watched a movie yesterday.
i.e. I went to the school in the morning today.

do – did 

go – went 

eat – ate 

past continuous – 过去进行时

S + was/were + doing + O 

i.e. I was watching tv last night at 8pm.
i.e. I was playing games yesterday.

future simple – 一般将来时

S + will + be/do + O 

i.e. I will be a student.
i.e. I will play games later.
i.e. I will go to work tomorrow.

future continuous – 将来进行时

S + will be + doing + O 

i.e. I will be watching tv tonight at 9pm.
i.e. I will be studying tomorrow.

am/is/are -> be 

Bob is a business assistant. He works for an advertising company. Today he is very busy. His boss, Mary, is out of town. He needs to handle all the calls and all the emails for her. He needs to make sure everything at the office runs well while she is not here. Bob’s phone has been ringing all day. Clients want to schedule meetings, and other people at the company are trying to contact his boss. It is a very busy day at the office.
