Vocabulary

elegant – you ya de

ex. She’s wearing an elegant white dress.

shoes – xie zi

socks – wa zi

ex. Do all of the questions including the ones in this box.

humorous – funny

ex. Jim Lord writes humorous stories for kids.

highly educated/least educated – having been schooled

bad review – to give an opinion about something/someone

ex. The bad reviews tell you the truth.

Grammar

Comparative and superlative adjectives 

big -> bigger -> biggest 

-The comparative is for comparing 2 things/people:

ex. This table is larger than the others.

-The superlative is for expressing the most:

ex. Her voice is the loudest.

ex. He is the least educated.

Adjective clause  

starts with a relative pronoun (who/whom/which/what/why/that/where)

-phrase is not a full sentence

ex. I have a brother who is younger.

ex. I’m not a fan of books which have a lot of pages.

ex. The cup on the table, which has black stripes, is mine.

Speaking exercise

The black long coat is warmer than the others.

The short dress with flower petals is less expensive than the long dress.

Tom King’s writing is most popular with children.

Sam Prince likes music more than Jim Lord.

Jim Lord likes kungfu movies more than Sam Prince.
