Vocabulary

contrast – when one thing is very different from something else

ex. The first sentence contrasts with the second.

ex. She is wearing contrasting colours.

made up my mind – make a decision

anxious – worried

creative – having a lot of ideas

honest – to describe someone that never lies

stubborn – gu zhi

ex. He’ll never listen to anyone because he’s too stubborn.

mean – not nice

ex. My neighbour is mean and scary.

cheap –  to describe someone who doesn’t like spending money

ex. My uncle is too cheap to buy my cousin a birthday present.

blurry – not clear

ex. It sounds blurry.

ex. I can’t see him in the picture, it’s too blurry.

plant-based meat – made of plants

crunchy – cui cui de

slimy – hua hua de

Adjectives to describe sound:

colourful/dark/bright/blurry/smooth/rough

Grammar

Speaking exercise
