Science is a significant pillar of development; it determines a country’s level of prosperity as well as its position as a global power. With more scientific discoveries, a country would be more wealthy and more powerful internationally. Scientific discoveries, such as smart phones, also affect people’s lives dramatically/drastically/also bring a drastic change to people’s lives. Unfortunately, most of the most advanced scientific discoveries are top secret for more developed countries. Most of the time, more often than not, these countries don’t want to share the discoveries because they want to keep their advantage. However, governments should share their scientific discoveries because it strengthens international cooperation as well as helps people who suffer from starvation and poverty, making our world a better place.

First of all, sharing scientific discoveries definitely strengthens cooperation between countries. By openly sharing discoveries, more countries can contribute to the research, and new ideas are formed. Teamwork is always more efficient and effective, while cooperation between countries is encouraged and strengthened. When COVID-19 broke out, China was the first country to study the virus. After much research, Chinese scientists had found out more about the virus and they shared their discoveries immediately. This action helped other nations’ disease control efforts, especially in their invention of the vaccine. Without sharing, many more people may have lost their lives to COVID-19. By virtue of sharing discoveries, people from all over the world had access to the most accurate, up-to-date knowledge about the pandemic.

In addition to pandemic control, sharing scientific discoveries can also help people who suffer from starvation and poverty everyday. By sharing discoveries, developed countries could bring their advanced technology to the poor. It definitely would change poor countries’ medical condition and save many lives. For example, China keeps sending/has been sending scientists and doctors to Africa, helping extremely poor countries. These scientists and doctors always bring new techniques to local people and save more lives from diseases.

On the other hand, if China keeps discoveries private, it would cause more people to die by dreadful diseases. Without sharing discoveries, this world would be worse, with a lot more injuries and deaths, especially in under-developed countries. Furthermore, people in the poor countries could never live comfortable lives. North Korea and south korea are neighboring countries. However, north korea’s development is far behind than south korea’s. South korea doesn’t want to share their discoveries is the key reason. It caused millions of North Koreans to die due to limitations of medical technology.

Human beings are self-fish creatures whose top concern is individual advancement, which causes sharing to be difficult, especially sharing advanced scientific discoveries. However, I think sharing discoveries is worthwhile, because it can help poor people and strengthen cooperation between countries. Without sharing, countries’ development would be slow  and more people’s lives would be negatively effected. In the future, when scientific discoveries are shared around the world, countries would be able to work together and make a better world for everyone.
Travel is always the hottest* way for people to enjoy their lives. There are millions of people choose* travel as their best way to spend time during their vacation*/holidays. With huge number of tourists, there is no doubt that tourism has become a significant industry for many countries. Those countries’ spectacular view always leave unforgettable memory to tourists. Japan is famous for its unofficial national flower-Japanese cherry, many foreign couples desire to Japan and take picture under cherry tree. However, traveling to different country is a big project. It cost lots of money and people might have language barrier. Hence, many people decide to go abroad when they are old. They think they would be rich and bilingual, whereas the truth is people should travel abroad when they’re young. Firstly, people’s physical power is better when they’re young. Youth is a period that people start to form their understanding about the world, go abroad could help them gain some extra experience. For some people, go abroad might change their entire lives.

  • too long. Background -> lead -> thesis (don’t have to delineate all reasons, use nouns to symbolize)
  • example doesn’t need a sentence
  • don’t end on a small note (no small details for ending)
  • don’t go into details for intro
  • current logic chain: lots of people travel-> tourism big industry -> traveling is expensive -> so old people travel more -> but people should travel when they’re young because…
  • new logic chain: everyone wants to travel -> expensive -> so old people travel more -> but young ..

Time and tide wait for no man. Old people’s physical power/strength is worse than the young, so travel* to different countries might be a difficult task for them. Travel* abroad normally need to take more than ten hours on the trip, for example, it takes 18 hours from Shanghai to Los Angles. It’s easy to see that travel* abroad/international travel is a hard test on people’s physical power, and most elderly couldn’t tolerate this kind of torment. However, it just piece of cake for the youth. (add one more sentence)

Go abroad* is also a good chance for the youth to see outside of their nation. Learn* different culture and language can help them gain some experience. It also can enrich their brain* and make them knowledgeable.* A child would know American doesn’t talk like English listening test speaker if he went to the US. There is a group of people, go abroad shows them a different world, they might consider study abroad and immigrate. For those people, travel abroad not only change their cognition, but also their lives.

logic chain: see the world -> make them wiser -> textbook vs reality -> real-life example -> decide studying/immigrate -> change lives

new P3: other side’s argument: expensive, time consuming

  • older people can afford, but part time job or cheap ways to travel
    example: small city/ XJ …
  • older people have more time, but young people have summer vacations, part of their learning.
    example: …

Travel* to different countries definitely cost plenty of money,* it requires economic power. Old people have money but the youth doesn’t even have a job,* this is the reason why some people think they should travel abroad when they’re older. However, the youth need different experience to enrich their perceptions of the world. This is not something that money can measure. With these traveling experiences, young people could ….
