Spartacus: the rebel leader who fought against the Romans with an army of fellow escaped slaves, is one of the most famous figures in ancient Roman history. Spartacus led his men against their Roman oppressors and managed to defeat the Roman army in several battles. Eventually Spartacus and his army were defeated and put to death. To this day, Spartacus fascinates both historians and the general public. Several aspects about his story have made him a particularly appealing hero.

First, Spartacus original goal in his conflict against Rome is one everyone can empathize with-he wanted to return home Spartacus and his men had been taken by the Romans from faraway lands In fighting the Romans, Spartacus and his men initially sought to return to the homelands from which they had been uprooted Spartacus and his men’s desire to return home is one we can all appreciate.

Second, Spartacus’ initial success in fighting against the powerful Roman army has earned him the admiration people feel when someone who is overmatched triumphs through sheer skill. Spartacus and his men formed a relatively small, ill-equipped army; the Roman army? in contrast, was large, well-financed, and highly trained. Spartacus’ ability to seriously trouble the Romans on the battlefield testifies to his military brilliance, making him a hero in most people’s eyes.

Third, in fighting against Rome: Spartacus sought to liberate all Roman slaves and thus commanded respect as an early human rights advocate. Before his final battle with the Romans, Spartacus was sent an offer by a Roman general: if Spartacus would stop fighting, he would be made a Roman senator, a member of Rome’s powerful elite: and his men would be freed. However, Spartacus rejected this offer because it would have left the institution of slavery in place.

Answer:
Spartacus is known for fighting against the Romans with an army of fellow escaped slaves; he was considered as a famous figure in ancient Roman history. People believe he was a military genius who wanted to liberate all Roman slaves. However, in the lecture, the professor hosts different ideas.

The professor doesn’t consider Spartacus/ to be/ a military genius/The professor doesn’t agree that Spartacus was a military genius. She deems that Romans didn’t treat him seriously is the key reason why Spartacus could win at first./ She deems that Spartacus could win at first only because Romans didn’t treat him seriously. And he immediately lost when Romans sent in their best troops.

The professor also thinks Spartacus’ desire for free slaves/his association with free slaves/his hiring of free slaves/ …Spartacus wanting to hire free slaves…/ is a story that was made up in 18th century. At that time, people were appealing to abolish slavery. Thus, they needed a historical role model like Spartacus. Therefore, Spartacus became the model of liberty for slaves.
There is another voice that said/saying Spartacus went against Romans merely because he wanted to return to the homeland. Nevertheless, evidences that the professor shows claim Spartacus wanted revenge and wealth instead of simply going home.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

Providing Internet access is just as important as other services, such as building roads, so governments should offer Internet access to a1l of their citizens at no cost.

With the development of technology, people access the internet all the time and it plays a more and more important role in our daily lives./In the beginning, the web was designed for scientific and academic use, but today…  Providing internet access is equally important – one may even argue more important than – building roads or subways. Even though some people recommend providing internet access for money, I think governments should provide internet access at no cost because internet

Like I mentioned at the beginning, Internet palys an important role now in every concern. It affects people’s daily lives. For example, most of people in Chinese prefer Alipay or Wechatpay instead of cash. The key reason is pay online is more convienient than cash.In this case, Internet access is required otherwise people can’t open their online payment APPs. Not only this, a great number of people use Internet to watch TV shows and movies on thier phone, because phones are more convienient than television and phones have less commercial. From this point of view, Internet access is fateful.
In the old days, people needed to buy newspapers to get the information that they want. Normally those information are not that fresh when people read it on newspaper.

Nowadays, with the powerful Internet, people can get the information immediately, which is much more faster than the old days. For example, people can get weather information whenever they want, further more get all the cities in the world.
Last but not least, from techbical aspect, Internet’s development is extremely fast. With the development of technoloy, using of Intertent will be easier and cheaper. In this case, government offers free Internet access is not a big issue. Especially with the development of AI, there is no need for people to work in Internet company.
