vibrations, oscillations  振动 —-> Vibes : a person’s emotional state or the atmosphere of a place as communicated to and felt by others.

ex. I left the party because it wasn’t good vibes. 

ex. I met her for a first date, but then I ditched because I didn’t like her vibes.

ex. He told me something normal, but he gave me bad vibes. 

ex. We are friends because we have the same vibes. 

ex. Everyone has different vibes. 


Homework

In China, we have a law to protect minors. If you are under the age 16 then you don’t take the responsibility for crimes like murder or rape. If I could I would change this law, so now, the law which was meant to protect the young people has now become the law to protect young criminals.


My friend Jim and his wife Gayle just filed the taxes for their household. They have 2 daughters, Melissa age 21 and Hannah age 26. In addition to this, they just recently took in a foster child named Roman, age 3. How many dependents do Jim and Gayle have living in their household?

Dependents – a child in a family who financially relies upon their parents and the parents receive tax benefits until they are a certain age…. Age 18-25.

Social Security – the governmental system for paying out benefits to older people who cannot work anymore, age +65….. %3.8… this is same  for everyone …

Income Tax – this is based on a tier, how much you make is how much you pay…. changes on which party controls the Govt. (Dem/Rep = Higher/Lower)

globalization – this benefitted the bigger companies but the working class people have lost their jobs —-> the working class people elected trump because he sympathized with them on bringing jobs back to the USA…

The speed of manufacturing determined your countries’ ability to be powerful at certain times.

Consumerism and consumption  – I think that (a certain type) consumerism is highest in the sub-urban areas(?).

Suburban (countryside) – areas on the outskirts of the city (look at Dallas, Texas)
