Vocabulary

Campus-  The location of a university, where it’s buildings are.

e.g. Jiatong has a pudong campus and a puxi campus.

Anonymous- When someone’s identity is not known.

e.g. There is a hacker group called anonymous, no one knows who they are.

Donor- Someone who donates or gives money for free.

e.g. Bill Gates is the world’s leading donor.

Assumption- Something you think is true but don’t know for a fact.

e.g. People often make assumptions that I’m married because I wear a ring on my finger.

Lawn- A big area that has grass.

e.g. In China, you normally are not allowed to walk on the lawn.

Consensus- When everyone agrees on something.

e.g. There is a consensus that the earth has gotten hotter over the past 25 years.

Unanimously- All together, without any opinion against it.

e.g. We unanimously voted to  change our product design, everyone in the room said yes.

Competitor- someone who competes against you, who is trying to beat you at something.

e.g. Make-up Forever is  Bobbi Brown’s biggest competitor.
