Norm: alighting a taxi on the right side
Tradition: celebrating Chinese New Year
Custom: respecting your elders/the older generation
Belief: the number 8 is lucky
The difference in Culture:
Norm: we call everyone “mate” = strangers, friends, family, anybody
Tradition: We celebrate Australia Day, January 26th
Custom: Wearing flip-flops/sandals everywhere, or just not wearing shoes at all
Belief: everyone is equal, every human life is worth the same
Cultural Norms = something that is done so often that it is considered normal.
