show up – 出现/来
i.e. She did not show up to our meeting = She did not come to our meeting.

research – to gather information about sth.
i.e. My job is to research about the universe.

drag (v.) – 拖

drag (n.) – something that makes people upset
i.e. I think it is such a drag to stand in line for two hours just for a bubble tea.

grade – score, result of your work in school 成绩
i.e. What is your grade in English class?

have in mind / have sth. in mind – the idea within sb’s head

stuff – things 东西
i.e. That’s my stuff.

semester – 学期
i.e. I like the first semester better than the second.

put sth. together – to make sth.

preoccupy (v.)

preoccupied – the person has something else in his mind 分神
i.e. I am sorry but I was preoccupied just now.

frustrate (v.) – to annoy

frustrated – being annoyed
i.e. I was frustrated because I lost my phone.

lounge – 休息室

dormitory – 宿舍

central (adj.) – important
i.e. The software is very central to our program.

i.e. The notice said to not smoke.

i.e. The website is under maintenance.
