Borrowing something
Describe a time you borrowed something from others ( friend or family member)

A time I borrowed something from others was the time I borrowed a pencil from my primary school teacher. The story happened during the final-term test when I was in grade 5 and that final term test was very important for me because I needed to use the grade to graduate and apply for middle school. It was the first exam of the first day of the final exams. It was math exam and I had prepared for this exam for one month because I really wanted to get a great score. I wanted to be number 1 in math. When I opened my pencil case, I realized that my pencil wasn’t in my pencil case. Then I remembered that my pencil was on my desk because I needed to go out in a hurry, so I forgot it. When I realized that, I started to get nervous and panicked. I asked everywhere to get a pencil but nobody had an extra. At that moment, my math teacher walked in and heard that I forgot my pencil at home. She came over to ask about my situation and to see if I had gotten a pencil from someone else yet. I looked at her with tearful eyes and said that no one had an extra one so I don’t know what to do. I really did not want to miss the exam because I had prepared for it for a really long time. Then she said that she had an extra pencil and she could give it to me. As she walked back with the pencil, it was like she brought in a gold shining light just like the Greek Goddess Athena and handed me the pencil. I took it with both hands and started the exam. During the exam, it was like a strange power had possessed me and the test actually felt easier than I had imagined. After this exam, I went to the math teacher’s office and wanted to give the pencil back. And my teacher said “Oh, dear. You don’t need to give back to me. This pencil is like a gift for you. I hope in the future when you see this pencil you can remember this exam and me.” When I heard that, tears dropped down from my face and I appreciated her. Until now, every time I use this pencil, I would do very good on the exam and it became my lucky pencil.
