Vocabulary

waitress = Server

waiter = Server

Writing Vocab:

Cursive – a kind of handwriting, which all the letters are connected.

eg: When we were young, our teachers told us we must all learn cursive writing.

Letters – a symbol that represents a sound, no meaning

eg: The English language has 26 letters.

eg: Chinese does not have letters.

Capital – Big version of a Letter

eg: AAA – (Three capital A’s)

eg: When you say  “I” it should always be capitalized. (V)

Lowercase – small version of a letter

eg: don’t start a sentence with a lowercase letter.

Alphabet – all the letters of a language, (In English A….Z)

eg: Can you sing the alphabet song?

eg: Can you alphabetize (V) these books? Just put them in order from A to Z.

eg: They are already alphabetized.

Characters – a symbol that represents a word

eg: Chinese language has much more than 80,000 characters.

Signature – your official written name, used for legal agreements

eg: Just put your signature here.

eg: Do you need my signature?


Scoop ( V.)  a Scoop of ( N) –

eg:  I’ll take two scoops of rice.

eg: They put a scoop of ice cream in the black tea. It’s popular in South China.
