caramel – sticky brown candy, often used in candy bars and in some coffee drinks.

eg: Caramel corn, is just popcorn covered in caramel.

tortilla – a flat round bread, can be made from corn or wheat.

dark chocolate – has a high percent of cocoa in it, and  a dark brown color.

AMERICAN ENGLISH:

Fries (french fries) –

eg: I like to put ketchup and mayo on my fries.

crackers –

eg: You have to get crackers with brie cheese.

cookies –

eg: I want a plate of chocolate chip cookies.

chips (potato, corn, vegetable, apple) –

eg: I like cucumber and lemon potato chips.

eg: I like apple chips.

European English:

Jessica: Sorry, I don’t like dark chocolate. Can you recommend others?

Server: What about apple fries? it looks very beautiful.

Jessica: I would like to take one.

Server: Would you like some kind of crackers?

Jessica: Yes, I’d like to have some cheese crackers. Please recommend some cakes for me.

Server: We have chocolate cakes and strawberry, vanilla and tiramisu.

Jessica: I want a big tiramisu.


Server: What would you like to have?

Jessica: Can you recommend something food for me?

Server: The chocolate chip cookies are popular.
