Vocabulary

If you are dating with someone

PDA – public display of affection, kissing your bf/gf at school.

eg: My friend got in trouble for PDA in high school. He was just holding her hand when they were walking to the bus.

alumni – former members of certain university.

eg: I’m one of the alumni from the 2015 class at Tourism College of Zhejiang.

HRM – university abbreviation for Hotel and Restaurant Management

eg: My university had a good HRM program.

Cliche – a thing said so many times that it has lost meaning and is not effective anymore

eg: People always say, you should really travel more, it will open your mind. But that is a little cliche, because I can also open my mind by reading books and having interesting experiences wherever you are.

anti-hero – not really wanting to be a hero, but does good deeds without good motivation

eg: Jessica Jones is my favorite anti-hero right now. Her emotional issues are very realistic.

PTSD – post traumatic stress disorder, when a person has a very terrible experience it damages their mind, and they will have problems later in life

eg: A lot of soldiers get PTSD after combat.
