drama – 1. a tv show or movie, that is about a serious and emotional subject  2. real life situation which is serious, or made to seem much more serious than it is.

eg: I watched a good show, it’s a drama called “Big Little Lies.”

eg: He is always causing drama. Somebody ate his lunch at work, and he became very dramatic, and said he was going to die if he didn’t eat lunch.

gonna = (be) going to (do sth.) (place)

eg: I’m going to my friend’s home. ( go to a place)

eg: I’m gonna the store.

eg: I‘m gonna go to sleep at 9:45. = I’m going to go to sleep.

eg: I’m gonna go to work on my day off, I have a project to finish.

wanna = want to (Do sth.)

eg: I wanna to buy this t-shirt.

eg: I want to have lunch now. = I wanna have lunch now.

eg: I don’t wanna be a politician.

The – when there is only one. OR, when you know which one.

eg: Let’s go to the restaurant. (the restaurant that we talked about)

eg: He is the best.

eg: The Boss said we have to work overtime.

thesaurus – a book, like a dictionary for finding synonyms

eg: Go to thesaurus.com to find synonyms. It’s a tab on the dictionary.com website.


Key Phrases:

there is only so much/many – there is a limited amount

eg: There’s only so many seats at the table, I’m afraid your friend can’t join us for dinner.

eg: There is only so much money in our cash box, and we can’t make sure we have enough money to pay for lunch.

so far – until now

eg: I’ve been in Shanghai for a year, and so far I have not met any Chinese people. (how is that possible?)

eg: We didn’t have lunch together so far. – We haven’t had lunch together so far.

eg: My work is so far. (Far away, Not near!)
