My name is Cecily and I’m a Shanghainese , I was born in Shanghai. My hobbies are watching movies and traveling. The classic one is love actually and also some romantic movies. And some 。。。 I like cooking some traditional Shanghainese food.
At the beginning of this year I went to Japan and last year I went to Turkey.
I’m working for the UK company and my main job is focused on retail marketing and events. We will have some events to launch our new products and invite some celebrities.
Since I will have some conf calls with the team in London I want to prepare just in case the future is on work. I haven’t spoken English for a long time so I am a little nervous. I want to create an English environment but my most of part related to English is writing emails. Some communication from emails with global teams but not face to face and sometimes will give some calls.

I studied in the UK for my master degree and then I moved to London. But it is a long time ago so I have been forgot something.
Currently there are more work opportunities in Shanghai especially in the luxury industry.

We are affected the business but I not very affect myself so far.
If I talk something I am familiar I will be more confident but if something I am not very sure maybe a bit messy for the grammar and vocabulary.

Right now I have some conferences calls with HQ in London but I may have more in the future and I would like to get ready for that possibility / improve my English so that I can more easily get noticed.
I haven’t spoken English for a long time so I am a little nervous. I want to create an English environment but my most what I do in English is writing emails/I don’t really use English at work except for writing emails.
I often communicate with the global team through emails and conference calls. We rarely meet face to face.

I studied in the UK for my master degree and then I moved to London. But it was a long time ago so I have somehow forgotten about it./ I am not so familiar with London anymore. / my memory of London is fading.
Currently there are more work opportunities in Shanghai especially in the luxury industry.

We are affected in terms of business but I am not really affected so far.
If I talk about something I am familiar with I will be more confident but if it is something I am not very sure about / I don’t know much about maybe my grammar and vocabulary will be a bit messy.
Not now / not currently . maybe in the future I will have the chance to present.

Roleplay

It is very tight for the schedule, we have to speed up. We are still waiting for approval from your side especially for the set up for the after party.
We are still waiting some materials for the set up. Lily told us it is being shipped out last week. Lily sent it in the email but from our side the logistic team hasn’t received any invoice for the customs. We can borrow these materials from C team but we are not sure if they are willing to borrow from them because they also need to use the materials. They need them at least 3 days before the emails.

Also regarding the uniform we haven’t received the final version of the uniform for the staff but it is really tight because we need to sourcing online and collects everyone size of the uniform and it takes some time on delivery. We are not sure if we can catch the deadline. The style of the uniform is totally different from last one. We need buy everything new this time.

can you bill the cost

Since the celebrities and the KOL things charged by our PR team. as far as I know they are still approaching the celebrities and no final confirmed since the celebrity may have another schedule… They do have some back ups but it is not final confirmed.

We also would like some entertainment to light up the event. Since in the past we only have DJ but it is not enough compared to our peers they will have interesting performances and eye catching performances but in terms of us it is just so so. Some media will think it is a bit conservative.  Maybe we can invite a famous International singer from your side. It will be easier than invited from our side.

It is very tight for the schedule/ it is tight, we have to speed up. We are still waiting for approval from your side especially for the set up for the after party.
We are still waiting for some materials for the set up. Lily told us it was shipped out last week. Lily sent it in the email but the logistic team (here) hasn’t received any invoice from the customs. We can borrow these materials from the C team but we are not sure if they are willing to lend to us/ to let us borrow them because they also need to use them. They need them at least 3 days before the event.

Also regarding the uniform we haven’t received the final version of the uniform for the staff but it is really tight/time is running out/ we don’t have much time left…. because we need to source online and collects everyone size of the uniform and it takes some time for the delivery/ and the delivery will add some additional time. We are not sure if we can catch the deadline / make it before the deadline. The style of the uniform is totally different from the last one. We need buy everything new this time.

can you foot the bill / can you cover the bill

The PR team is in charge of inviting the celebrities and the KOLs. as far as I know they are still approaching the celebrities and no final confirmation since the celebrity may have a schedule clash / may have another plan / may need to be somewhere else at that time… They do have some back ups but it is not confirmed yet/ totally certain yet.

We also would like some entertainment to light up the event. Since in the past we only had a DJ but it is not enough compared to our peers they will have interesting and eye catching performances but for our party I feel it lacks a highlight / we need to find a way to wow the participants. Some media may think it is a bit conservative.  Maybe we can invite a famous International singer from your side. It will be easier than if we invite one from our side.
