After watching several Coca-Cola and  Pepsi ads, I have summarized some differences between the two brands.

First difference is about brand message, Coca-Cola expresses more interests on sports energy. Their ads cross different sports categories such as soccer, basketball, etc. Besides, Coca-Cola shows big interests on Olympic games, they sponsor every Summer Olympics and disability Olympics. So when I search the Coca-Cola ads on YouTube, I found it has endorsed lots of sport stars and sport relevant KOLs to be the brand ambassadors. All the ads are very exciting and energetic. However, what Pepsi wants to convey is more about youth and coolness. So Pepsi’s  ads connect more with popular singers and youth idols with cool images. Also PepsiCo has sponsor lots of entertainment TV shows, such as the idol singing competition—– “singersâ€, which echo with their brand messages Youth and popularity.

Second difference is about their strategies. For Coca-Cola, as it is the leader in beverage, Apart from the sporty and energetic spirits. what Coca-Cola also wants to convey to their audience are social responsibilities. From second world war to 2008 Sichuan earthquake, Coca-Cola have launched a series of ads to support the world peace and human rights. Beside, Coca-Cola as the one of the biggest plastic users, the environmental protection has also been a important topic to build a sustainable brand image TCCC.
