Sweeten: to make something sweet

Sweetener (noun): Something that makes it sweet.

Ex. Sugar and honey are sweeteners. If you add them to baking, coffee, it will sweeten the coffee or sweeten the cookies or cakes.

Artificial sweetener.   Type of sweetener or sugar that is chemical based, so it imitates the taste of sugar, but not fattening.

Artificial (adjective): Fake, or trying to imitate the real thing.
Ex, That girl is beautiful, but her beauty is artificial, she is just wearing lots of makeup and had cosmetic surgery.

Ex. Coke Zero and Diet Coke have artificial sweeteners to make them taste sweet, but have less calories.

Cosmetic: (adjective), For beauty on the surface, so exterior beauty.

Ex. Cosmetic surgery: When a doctor makes a change to your face or body to make you more conventionally beautiful or to fix a disfigurement. If your nose is broken, a cosmetic surgeon can fix the shape your nose.

Temporary: (adjective), Impermanent, does not last forever. Time frame.

Ex. I have a temporary driver’s license because I am just learning to drive, soon, I will get my permanent driver’s license.

Expiry Date: The day listed on food or perishable goods by which you should throw them away. The date licenses, visas and official documents need to be renewed by.

Ex. The food’s expiry date is July 1. The apples will be rotten after their expiry date.

Expiration or Expire: The time something is no longer valid.

Ex. My Chinese visa expires on July 20, so I have to apply for another visa or leave China.

Ex. The expiration of my visa is July 20.

Ex. The expiry date of my China visa is July 20.

Illegal: Going against the law of your country.

Ex. Overstaying your US visa is illegal. You can go to prison or be deported from the country if you no longer have a valid visa. So its very important to leave before your visa expires.
