Speaking exercise

The trip was nine days, we started in Chengdu by bus to Dao Chan Yading. I think the trip is good, the travel guide is very funny. At first, I feel a little nervous because I can’t normally make friends fast. I was traveling by myself, do the other people on the trip were strangers. Because of the travel guide, I opened my heart quickly to accept the strangers/new people. There was a story during the trip, on the third day, I lost my phone but at last it was not a bad thing. Other people helped me to use “Find My phone” and I found my phone was not shut down and we also found the phone was moving in different way, then we just leaved a message and told people to call us and the second day after I lost my phone, nothing happened, but on the third day, I received a call and that person who picked the phone said he picked the phone in a tourist place and she was afraid other people would pick the phone so she pick it first and took with her and she said she would deliver the phone to me. I feel most people are friendly.  During the trip I had no phone, she delivered it when I got home. There was another people in the group who had another available phone and she lended her phone to me during the trip, so I feel so lucky. So when I lost my phone, at the beginning I called China Mobile to stop my number and I locked my phone, so I feel its safe. When I used another people’s phone, I can use Wechat, I could use for Wechat and wifi in the hotel. It was a little inconvenient especially when I got back to Shanghai because I needed the QR for health. In Chengdu, it was ok cause I could save the QR code. But when I entered to Shanghai, the QR code was not for Shanghai it was for Chengdu, I needed the Alipay QR code, so I just used the QR code from Chengdu to another people and when I enter to Shanghai, people ask me to show the QR code and I just showed the Chengdu QR code and he was nice and let me pass.  I got so many help from other people. On thee first day when I go up to the altitudes of 3200, I feel headache. Many people have the same feeling as me. But in our group, just one person, puked. There was 17 people on the trip including 2 tour guides. The tour guides were both girls, one was really young, just 20, and the other one was the same as me.  That young guide just assisted with the other one. I liked the days we spent in Dao Chan Yading, we were so close to the snow mountain when we were hiking up to the mountain, I found it a little difficult, because you can’t go to fast, because of the high altitude, you need to take breaks all the time, but when you get to the lake I feel so excited. There was one time I feel the food was really good, one night we were in Denba city and we eat hot pot with beef, its really good. I like spicy food and its really fit for me.  When we back to the city, because we had two nights stay in the city, so we ordered that food again. For the first couple of nights, I was awake the one night. The most important is I slept late, so I felt tired, in the night we played games. We don’t have guts to have beer. The guide said if you have beers in the high altitude you would feel bad the next day, so we didn’t drink. But we still played games late. There are two people who I also liked playing badminton, so maybe next time we will go play badminton together.

At first, I feel felt a little nervous because I can’t don’t normally make friends fast/quickly. I was traveling by myself, so the other people on the trip were strangers. But because of the travel guide, I opened my heart quickly to accept the strangers/new people/ I felt very comfortable and open to meeting new people.  There was a story incident during the trip, on the third day, where/when I lost my phone but in the end at last it was not a bad thing it turned out ok/didn’t turn out too badly. Other people on the trip helped me to use “Find My phone” and I found my phone was not shut down turned/switched off and we also found realized the phone was moving in different direction way, then we just leaved left a message and asked (the person who found the phone) told people to call us. And on the second day The day after I lost my phone, nothing happened/we heard nothing, but on the third day, I received a call and that the person who picked the found my phone said she picked found the phone in a tourist place and she was afraid other people would steal it/take it pick the phone so she took it first and took with her and she said she would deliver the phone to me later. This incident made me I feel that most people are friendly.  During the trip I had no phone, but she had it delivered back to me when I got home. There was another people person in the group who had a spare another available phone and she lended lent it her phone to me during the trip, so I feel felt really so lucky. So when I first lost my phone, at the beginning I called China Mobile to put my number on hold stop my number and I locked my phone, so I feel its safe. When I used the borrowed phone another people’s phone, I can use Wechat. I could use for Wechat and wifi in the hotel. It was a little inconvenient especially when I got back to Shanghai, because I needed the QR for my health declaration. In Chengdu, it was ok cause I could save the QR code. But when I returned entered to Shanghai, the QR code was not for Shanghai it was for Chengdu, I needed the Alipay QR code, so I just used the QR code from Chengdu to another people and  when I entered to Shanghai.  People asked me to show the QR code and I just showed the Chengdu QR code and he was nice and let me pass.  I got so many much help/support from other people (in our tour group). On the first day, when I hiked go up/got up to the altitudes of 3200 meters , I feel had a headache. Many people also had headaches have the same feeling as me. But in our entire group, just one person puked. There was 17 people on the trip including 2 tour guides. The tour guides were both girls, one was really young, just 20, and the other one was the same age as me.  That young guide just assisted with the other one. I liked the days we spent in Dao Chan Yading, we were so close to the snow mountain/we had such a great view when we were hiking up to the mountain. I found it a little difficult, because you can’t go too fast, because of the high altitude. You need to take breaks all the time, but when you we get got to the lake I feel felt very so excited. There was one place we went time where I feel felt the food was really good. One night we were in Denba city and we eat hot pot with beef, its  it was really good. Vocabulary

Stranger/s: (noun) A person/people you don’t know yet, they are unfamiliar to you.
Eg. I am shy to meet new people, sometimes I am uncomfortable with strangers. But strangers can also be future friends if you discover things in common and you like their good vibes.

Vibe/s: To have a good feeling about someone, someone with nice energy has good vibes. They seem nice and friendly.
Eg. I connected with some new people on the trip, I liked their vibes. Grace is a friendly and cheerful person, I can feel good vibes and would like to get to know her better. Vibes can also be bad vibes, so if someone walks into the room and you feel negative vibes or a negative feeling from them, that’s bad vibes.

“Good Vibes Only” is popular to write on a T-shirt. So it basically means, you want to spend time with positive people, who are happy and not always negative/complaining or hating on the world and other people.

Highlight/s: The things you remember the most, or the things you enjoyed the most.
Eg. What were the highlights of your trip? What did you love or enjoy the most. For example: I loved the view the snowcapped mountains, I loved trying the interesting flavors of food. A highlight, for me, was having fun conversations with the others on the trip and sharing stories.

Wind Breaker: Sporty, outdoor jacket to protect from wind and rain. Its not designed to be too warm, but so you can wear it whether is warm or a little cool.
eg. We wore wind breakers/sports jacket to protect us from wind and rain and also so we didn’t get cold.

Grammar

Keep working on past tense. When you are telling stories of what happened in the past, I can see you slipping into present tense alot. Keep on eye on that.
