Edited:

I watched an episode of Spongebob where Patrick‘s parents come to visit. He told Spongebob he wanted his help, so his parent don’t think he’s stupid. The next day, his parents arrived. These were actually not his parents, but he thought they were. Spongebob went to his house and acted very stupid, so it would look like Patrick was cleverer than him, and his parents will think he is very clever. But suddenly, Patrick’s true parents arrived, and we realized how silly he is, because he hadn’t recognized his own parents.
