Vocabulary
To be used to: 1- familiar with a condition or activity.
E.g.: We were used to a cold climate, so the weather didn’t bother us.
E.g.: She’s used to working hard.
E.g.: I’m used to working late hours.
Used to (modal verb): 1- done or experienced in the past, but no longer done or experienced.
E.g.: I used to eat meat, but now I’m a vegetarian.
E.g.: We don’t go to the movies now as often as we used to.
E.g.: Raph used to live in Zhongshan Park.
Decorate (v): 1- to make a room or a house more beautiful by adding furniture and beautiful things to it. 2- 装饰
E.g.: He just decorated his new apartment.
E.g.: He hired an interior designer to help him decorate his new house.
Domestic (adj): 1- relating to a person’s own country.
E.g.: domestic airlines/flights
E.g.: After working for international companies for many years, she just got a new job at a domestic firm .
E.g.: Domestic opinion (=the opinion of the people inside the country) had turned against the war.
Border (n/v): 1- the line that divides two cities, provinces, countries, etc.
E.g.: Fuding is at the border between Zhejiang and Fujian provinces.
E.g.: The USA borders Mexico in the South and Canada in the North.
Bachelor’s Degree (n): 1- 学士学位
Master’s Degree (n): 1- 硕士学位
PhD / Doctorate (n): 1- 博士学位
Bankrupt (adj): 1- 破产者
