Concern (v/n): 1- to cause worry to someone. 2- a worried or nervous feeling about something
E.g.: The state of my father’s health concerns us greatly.
E.g.: It concerns me that he hasn’t called me all week.
E.g.: There is concern that the panda will soon become extinct.

Global Warming (n): 1- the process in which the Earth is getting hotter and hotter, mainly because of pollution and other human activities.
E.g.: The destruction of the rainforests is one of the causes of global warming.
E.g.: Scientists fear that global warming has gone beyond the point of no return.
E.g.: Yesterday’s newspaper had a double-page article on global warming.

Completely (adv): 1- totally; in every way or as much as possible.
E.g.: I agree with you completely.
E.g.: He’s completely crazy.
E.g.: He’d completely changed – I didn’t recognize him.

Layer (n): 1-  an amount of something that is spread over an area
E.g.: Everything was covered by a thin layer of sand/dust

Deforestation (n): 1- the cutting down of trees in a large area, or the destruction of forests by people.
E.g.: Deforestation is destroying large areas of tropical rainforest.

Excavate (v): 1- to remove earth that is covering very old objects buried in the ground in order to discover things about the past:
E.g.: Ice age bones are being excavated in the caves.
