Vocabulary

Along those lines / Along the lines of sth: 1- similar in type.
E.g.: I was thinking of doing a meal along the lines of that dinner I did for Annie and Dave.
E.g.: They’re campaigning for the economic system to be reformed along the lines of (= so that it becomes similar to) the one in Germany.
E.g.: I was thinking about doing something along those lines.

Stereotype (n): 1- a set idea that people have about what someone or something is like, especially an idea that is wrong.
E.g.: racial/sexual stereotypes
E.g.: He doesn’t fit the stereotype of a gay man.
E.g.: The characters in the book are just stereotypes.

Conform to (v): 1- to behave according to the usual standards of behavior that are expected by a group or society.
E.g.: At our school, you were required to conform, and there was no place for originality.

Generalize to say or write that something is true all of the time, when it is only true some of the time:
E.g.: You can’t generalize about a continent as varied as Europe.
E.g.: Not all women like shopping. You’re just generalizing.

Relevant (adj): 1- connected with what is happening or being discussed.
E.g.: Education should be relevant to the child’s needs.
E.g.: For further information, please refer to the relevant leaflet.
E.g.: The point is highly relevant to this discussion.
E.g.: I’m sorry but your personal wishes are not relevant (= important) in this case.

Prestigious (adj): 1- very much respected and admired, usually because of being important:
E.g.: He has just received a very prestigious award.
E.g.: She studied at a prestigious university
