the people who are from the north of china look more aggressive than people from the south.

overweight – polite way of saying fat

strict – a lot of control

lenient – opposite of strict

patriotic – to have a love of your country

a soldier should be very patriotic

to retire, retirement- to stop working because too old

pension – money given when people retire

1st,2nd,3rd tier – level of a city in china

secure, security – safe

get fired/sacked – lose your job because you did something wrong

get laid off/ made redundant – lose your job because the company went bankrupt or is losing money

to resign, resignation – your choice to leave the job
