Today we focused on:

discussion about difference between China and the US.

Vocabulary

Military – Navy, Air Force, Army

The military is made up of the Army, Navy and Air Force.

Centralised political system – decision making is made centrally

individuality – focus on the individual person

to interfere – to get involved in something usually in a negative way

China doesn’t interfere in other countries internal affairs/ politics.

lenient – opposite of strict

the degree of punishment in the UK is much more lenient than in China.

Economic protectionism- 

The US uses economic protectionism to gain more benefits for themselves.

Tariff – 

the US put high tariffs on the import of Chinese Steel.

obedient-  to follow instructions or orders

Students in China are typically more obedient compared with US students.
