Today we focused on:

talked about diet and exercise

Vocabulary

durable – it lasts a very long time

the exercise bike is very durable

heart rate – how many times your heart beats a minute

after exercise people often have a high heart rate

Distance – how long you have moved/walked/cycled for

Calories burnt – amount of energy used

running burns more calories than walking

aerobic  exercise- a type of exercise like running, cycling, swimming

we burn more calories from aerobic exercise like running, cycling and swimming.

Stationery cycling/biking – cycling without moving on an exercise bike

anerobic exercise – using resistance movement

you could build muscle from doing anerobic exercise

tone muscle – the muscle are visible and harder

If you can want to increase muscle tone you need to eat protein.

Vegetarian – a person who doesn’t eat meat

more young people are becoming vegetarian to lose weight

digest – how the body processes food

vegetables and fruits are easy to digest

Carbohydrates- a food group, a lot is found in rice,bread and noodles.

if you want want more energy you can carbohydrates.

Homework

Use some of the vocabulary from today in some writing. Choose a topic that lets you use the words we learned.
