Vocabulary

SWAT – Special Weapons and Training

Put your hands in the air! – what the police say to bad guys

Lap – the top of someone’s legs, where someone can sit
e.g. You cannot sit on my lap.

Racetrack – a road for racing on
e.g. Yuan Bao drove a very fast car on the racetrack.

Collar – the tall neck part on a shirt
e.g. Yuan Bao’s school uniform shirt has a collar.

Pin – a small thing for putting on the front of a shirt
e.g. Yuan Bao has a school pin that goes on the front of his shirt. He knows how to take it off and put it back on. It says “Shanghai Conservatory Division”

Exercise – to dance, or run, or jump, or do pushups to be stronger
e.g. Yuanbao’s Mom does exercise with her phone.

Moose – like a large deer, with big horns, called antlers; 驼鹿
Antlers – the horns on deer, or moose, like in the picture 鹿角
