Write about Chicago. What do you know about it? How cold does it get there.

Vocabulary

Spin – to move like a circle 自旋
e.g. During class, Joe was having fun spinning in his chair.

Author – someone whose job is to write, someone who writes books
e.g. Joe writes so beautifully that maybe someday he will be an author.

Christmas tree – 圣诞树
e.g. The Christmas tree that they put up in New York each year is so tall! It is three or four stories tall!

e.g. The New York Christmas tree is three or four stories tall.

Chicago – 芝加哥
e.g. Chicago is very cold in the winter!

Negative – a number below zero 零下
e.g. Sometimes, in winter, it is negative 40 or 50C. So cold!

Freeze – 冻
Freeze to death – 冻死

Blue – about a person, it means “to be sad”
e.g. Joe isn’t blue, his shirt is blue!
e.g. Joe is wearing a blue shirt.

Grammar

China language – Chinese

She don’t say to me – She didn’t say anything

In  New York have a very, very tall 圣诞树 – In New York there is a very tall Christmas tree / New York has a very tall Christmas tree
