Ellipsis – ( . . . ) three periods, used to show that a sentence is not finished; sometimes, it is the same as “etc.”

Take down – when you hear something and write it down, usually taking for notes for someone else
e.g. *At a pizza restaurant* “When a customer calls, you have to answer and take down their order. Then ask if they want ‘pick up’ or ‘delivery.'”

Attitude – the way you interact with people; are you pleasant or not?
e.g. She is in customer service, but she always has a bad attitude . . .

Pronunciation

Etc. – Etcetera

Attitude vs. Altitude
— the first is two “t” sounds, first a “stop” and then a regular “t” sound
— the second is an “l” and then a regular “t” sound
— There are two differences: the “l” has a voice sound, the “t stop” does not; in “attitude” this stop causes a break in the sound, but the “l” is constant
