Vocabulary

KOL – key opinion leader

Out of the woods – when a dangerous situation has ended, or a very busy period is over
e.g. We’re just about out of the woods on this campaign.
e.g. They were in a terrible car crash, and were just rescued from the car before it burned up. But, they aren’t out of the woods yet, because they still are very hurt and will have to stay in the hospital.

Pass away – polite for “die”
e.g. My uncle passed last month.

Parent – mother or father; gender neutral (not male or female)
e.g. Three of my friends recently had a parent who passed away.

Neutral – not having an opinion or deciding between options
e.g. Switzerland is a famously neutral country.
e.g. Her new boyfriend said something very bad to her Mom, and they began to argue. Her Dad, who did not want to argue, remained neutral.

Usually – this tells you what happens most of the time, in most cases; this doesn’t tell us what happens in a specific case
e.g. I usually come to class on Tuesday.
As usual – this means that a specific example is happening in the usual way, as things usually do; this example is the same as most other ones
e.g. As usual, my campaign had plenty of time to prepare (this campaign is like the others, because we enough time to get ready)

Demand – to require something; to ask for something and be ready to walk away if you don’t get exactly what you want 需求

Pyramid – a shape made of four triangles, or four triangles and a square

Grammar

Prices are either high or low.
Things are either expensive or cheap.
e.g. These shoes are very cheap/expensive.
e.g. The price of these shoes is very low/high.

Speaking exercise

At early April, I went to Kyoto to take wedding photo. Then we when we back to Shanghai, my wife’s uncle is gone, we need to go back to our hometown. Then we go back to Shanghai, I have a very suddenly campaign, so I need to overtime every day. I need to find some kol to write some article about the product. As usual, my campaign have lot of time for me to find kols, but this time there is only three days to find kols, because our client need some beautiful kols, but the price is very cheap. Usually beautiful and pop kols are very expensive. This campaign will be end day after tomorrow.

After that, we came back to Shanghai, I had a very sudden campaign, so I needed to work overtime every day. I needed to find some kols to write some articles about the product. As Usually, my campaigns have a lot of time for me to find kols, but this time there were only three days / I only had three days to find kols because our client needed some cheap and beautiful kols, but the price is very cheap. Usually beautiful and popular kols are very expensive.** This campaign will be end the day after tomorrow.
