Vocabulary

Rocket – something that flies by creating a large fire at one end 火箭
e.g. We use rockets to get to space.

(Outer) Space – very far away from Earth, where the Moon, the Sun, and all the stars are at 太空

Lunar – about the Moon
e.g. China is building lunar rockets (rockets to go to the Moon).

有 – Have vs. There is/are
— “Have” is something that is yours
e.g. I have two apples.
— “There is” tells me how many of something are in some place
e.g. At SmartEnglish there is a student named Apple.

Flavor – what something tastes like 味道
e.g. This water is lemon-flavored.

React – what you do when something happens 反应
e.g. When he saw Ultraman, he reacted with surprise.

Toy Car / Model Car
— A toy car is small car for playing with.
— A model car is small car that looks just like a real car.

Dirt – the brown stuff the ground is made of 泥土／尘土
Mud – when water gets into dirt and makes it sticky 泥土

Grammar

For grades in school, use words like:
First, Second, Third…

I don’t know everything – I don’t know anything

For names, we don’t use “the” or “a”:
