Action Movie – a movie with fast cars, guns, explosions
e.g. Mission Impossible is a famous action movie.

Installment – one movie in a group of similar stories

Express Myself – to communicate clearly with someone, to tell someone what you’re thinking

Let – to allow someone to do something; you could stop them, but you won’t
(Be careful, because it’s not the same as 让)
e.g. If you want to leave class early, I will let you.

e.g. Can you say it in English?
e.g. He said: “I want to eat Shanghai style food.”

Speak out – to say something to get attention
e.g. We wanted to be paid more, so we spoke out in the meeting.

Grammar

Take a rest – Take a break
At least in the US, we very rarely use “rest” as a noun, only as a verb
e.g. If you’re tired, take a short break and try it later.
e.g. If you’re tired, why don’t you lay down and rest for a while?

I can get your meaning – I understand (what you mean)

With a bed, you get “in,” not “on” when you are laying down. Imagine that you are under the blankets, but on top of the bed.
e.g. I will let my sister sleep in the bed, and I will stay on the floor.
e.g. If you stand on the bed, you can reach the window to clean it.

If you don’t tell me which thing you mean, you shouldn’t use “the.”

Clothes – if you have one or many, it is still always “clothes”

Speak outsay

In with languages – the language used for writing or speaking
e.g. This book was written in English.
To – usually means motion
e.g. We are going to the park.
Into a language – when something is translated from English to another Chinese, it is now now in Chinese; it was translated into Chinese

Speaking exercise

Stay on the bed and just watch the movies on the iPad. From day to night. If I’m hungry I just call the waimai. I can just eat one time the whole day to stay slim/thin. If I want to go out I just go to the shopping mall for buying some clotheses and eating some delicious food. It is just very difficult for me to open my mouth and let you get my meaning. It’s very difficult to translate myself. If I want something then I put it in my mind and translate it to English.

I stayed in bed all day and just watched the movies on the iPad. From day to night. If I’m hungry I just order food for delivery. I can just eat once a day to stay slim/thin. If I want to go out I just go to the shopping mall to buy some clothes and (to) eat some delicious food. It is just very difficult for me to open my mouth and express myself clearly. It’s very difficult to translate my thoughts. If I want to say something then I first make a sentence in Chinese, and then translate it into English.
